Paver Repair in Bonita Springs, FL
Bonita Springs has a little of everything: homes near the Gulf and the bay, older neighborhoods with mature trees, neighborhoods along the Imperial River, and large planned communities farther inland. The pavers vary just as much, from driveways laid decades ago to recent installs, and they don't all fail the same way. I'm Aaron Kochheiser. I've been repairing pavers in Southwest Florida since 2010, and we serve Bonita Springs from our base in Fort Myers.

Common paver problems in Bonita Springs
- Flood and storm damage. Low-lying areas near the river and the coast have flooded in major storms. Standing water can soften the base, wash out joint and bedding sand and leave sections sunken or wavy once the water drains. What you see on top is often only part of the problem.
- Older installations. In older developments, the base under a driveway or pool deck has had years to settle, and borders and edge restraints wear out. Once the edge lets go, the field pavers start to spread and gaps open up.
- Mature trees. Older neighborhoods have big trees close to driveways and walkways. Their roots lift pavers into trip edges, and the lift tends to get worse every year.
- Coastal salt air. Close to the water, salt and humidity break down joint sand faster, so joints open up and pavers loosen.
- Pavers that are hard to match. Many older paver styles and colors have been discontinued, and anything that has been in the sun for years has faded. Matching replacements takes some honest discussion.
What we repair
- Sunken or uneven pavers: We lift the pavers, remove soft or contaminated base material where needed, rebuild and compact, then relay the pavers level.
- Tree-root lifts: We reset lifted pavers and talk through the root with you before anything is cut. Sometimes an arborist should look at it first.
- Broken paver replacement: We pull cracked pieces and put in the closest available match. Salvaged pavers from a less visible area can sometimes go into the most visible spots.
- Re-sanding: We sweep in polymeric sand to firm up the joints and help hold up against rain and washout.
- Edge restraint: We reset failed borders and restore the edge restraint so the repair holds.
How a Bonita Springs repair works
Tell us the history. Let us know if the area flooded, when the pavers went in if you know, and whether you have any spare pavers. Photos of the problem spot and the wider surface help.
Check what's under the surface. After flooding or years of settling, we look past the low spot to the base, the edges and how water drains off the surface.
Agree on the scope. We show you where the repair needs to start and stop, and we go over matching options for any pavers that need replacing.
Repair and lock in. We lift, rebuild, reset, replace broken pieces, re-sand and set the edges.
Protect it. Once the surface is solid, cleaning and paver sealing in Bonita Springs can bring back color and help the repaired section blend. Sealer can't level a low spot, so repairs come first.

Bonita Springs paver repair FAQs
Our pavers sank after the area flooded. Do they all need to be replaced?
Not always. In many cases, the pavers themselves can be reused. They come up, the soft base is corrected and they go back down. We'll check how far the damage goes before recommending anything bigger.
My pavers are discontinued. Can you still repair them?
Usually. We reuse every sound paver we can and look for the closest replacement for the rest. Sometimes we move original pavers from a hidden area to the most visible spot and put the new ones where they won't be noticed.
Do you fix loose borders and edges?
Yes. A failing edge is one of the most common reasons older installs spread and gap, and we fix it as part of the repair.
Can you coordinate with my HOA or while I'm away for the season?
Yes. Send us the community's vendor or gate requirements and the name of the person who can give us access, and we'll plan around them.
